Opticians

Wise travellers stock up on optical wear while visiting Thailand. Lenses are far less expensive than most places, locally made frames are very inexpensive and imported frames are often cheaper than in Europe or North America. For your eye examination you have three options: bring your prescription with you, have your eyes examined at a Thai hospital by physician, or have your eyes examined by the optician where you purchase your glasses. The skills of the opticians vary radically. If you have concerns, it is best to have your eyes examined by a doctor and then take your prescription to the optical shop.

Tattoos

Many people get a tattoo while in Pattaya. This is a big step and hard to reverse, but there is no denying tattoos are currently very popular. If you are going to get one, there are several excellent artists in Pattaya. Be sure you check to see needles are sterilized properly. A less drastic step is a temporary henna tattoo from one of the vendors wandering the beach.
